OUR STORY
Esja Edu's Mission
We realized many of our family and friends who have been learning Icelandic for years, still cannot speak good Icelandic. Many people found learning Icelandic difficult and even boring. We wanted to change this. Our Icelandic classes are developed by both native and non-native Icelandic speaking teachers. We also organize volunteer programs and offer free classes for marginalized groups in the Icelandic society.
Experience our commitment to your studies.
Esja Edu Language & Culture School is committed to providing courses that not only fit every skill level and background, but also infuse our supportive and innovative teaching approach. Check out our current course offerings.
OUR WORKS FOR THE ICELANDIC SOCIETY
Esja Edu's Social Contributions
At Esja Edu, we are always asking ourselves, "What can we do for people in the Icelandic society?"
Volunteer program:
Esja Edu organizes free volunteer classes for children of foreign origin where both parents do not speak Icelandic and foreign women who are victims of domestic violence in Iceland. We also offer Iceland living and settlement advice for newly moved students and their families.
Entertainment:
We organize monthly Nerd Nite Reykjavík events (fun-yet-informative drunk presentation series, http://reykjavik.nerdnite.com/).
Social events:
We organize social events for students at bars, restaurants, and at classrooms.
Cultural events:
We sponsor and organize the events of the Asian Students Association in Iceland and the Korea Society of Iceland.
We’d love to hear from you! Feel free to contact us with questions! (It is best to email us or send us a Facebook message since we might not be able to answer the phone calls when we are in the class or events!)
